2008/2009 Season
Another Fabulous Season!
The Kitchen Witches A full-length comedy by Caroline Smith. Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle are two "mature" cable-access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years, ever since Stephen Biddle dated one and married the other. When circumstances put them together on a TV show called The Kitchen Witches, the insults are flung harder than the food! Dolly's long-suffering TV-producer son Stephen tries to keep them on track, but as long as Dolly's dressing room is one inch closer to the set than Isobel's, it's a losing battle, and the show becomes a rating smash as Dolly and Isobel top both Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer. "Canadian playwright Caroline Smith has whipped up a hilarious tale." - Simcoe Times-Reformer.
Nuncrackers This is the 4th show in the NUNSENSE series of musicals. The Nunsense Christmas Musical is presented as the first TV special taped in the Cable Access Studio built by Reverend Mother in the convent basement. It stars the nuns you love, plus Father Virgil, and four of Mount Saint Helen's most talented students. Featuring all new songs including Twelve Days Prior to Christmas, Santa Ain't Comin' to Our House, We Three Kings of Orient Are Us and It's Better to Give Than to Receive, this show is filled with typical NUNSENSE humour, some of your favourite carols and a "Secret Santa" audience participation. -- D. Goggin.
Count Dracula A Mystery Comedy by Ted Tiller, based on Bram Stoker's novel. This is a witty version of the story of a suave vampire whose passion is sinking teeth into the throats of young women. There are many surprising but uncomplicated stage effects including mysterious disappearances, secret panels, howling wolves and bats that fly over the audience. Magically, Dracula vanishes in full view of the spectators.
Camelot The entire community of Camelot awaits the arrival of Guenevere, future wife of England's King Arthur. The audience will be quickly drawn into this enchanting musical which includes some wonderful numbers such as "The Simple Joys of Maidenhood", "The Lusty Month of May", "How to Handle a Woman", "I Loved You Once in Silence", "If Ever I would Leave You" and "What Do the Simple Folk Do?". In the end it is fourteen-year old Tom who tells the world of Camelot's quest for right, honour and justice. -- Lerner and Loewe
High School Musical

When Troy gets back to school, he realizes that Gabriella is a new student in the same. The two end up trying out for the school musical, but when they get called back for the lead roles against the school’s top theatrical talents, Ryan and Sharpay Evans, the brother and sister will stop at nothing to get Troy and Gabriella out of the running.
