Miguel1Miguel Esteban
Miguel is heading into his 4th year studying Piano Performance at the University of Toronto. His RCM certificates include Violin (Grade 10), Theory (Advanced Rudiments/Level 8) and History (1/Level 9). He has taught private lessons for piano and violin, tutored theory, and has been a vocal coach for several years. With experience working in 30 musical theatre productions, Miguel is excited to share his knowledge on how to make sure you shine on stage! Lessons with Miguel can include:

  • Introductory Piano & Theory (so that you can read sheet music and learn your vocal part on your own!)
  • Vocal Coaching Options
  • Bring a song/songs you’ve prepared and receive instruction on how to bring it to the next level.
  • Inquire beforehand about wanting to build repertoire. Music and tracks will be chosen and sent to you (before the lesson), and will be worked on during the lesson. Learn how to start a song from scratch!

Paige1Paige Evans
Paige has studied Acting For Film and Television at Humber College. She has acted in multiple different TV shows and commercials! She has been a choreographer for 3 years now, teaching at multiple different high schools across Durham! She is passionate about teaching you how to act and dance! Lessons with Paige can include:

  • How to break down choreo (learn a dance and how to make it unique and stand out in an audition)
  • Monologue Study (learn how to create a character and connect with the lines)
  • Scene Study (Let’s break down a scene from your fav TV show/movie! We will learn how to act for film and television, connect with a scene partner and break down your lines! If you want, you can do this lesson with a friend so you two can act in a scene together.)

Courtney1Courtney Day
Courtney is a Kingston based performer and educator. She is a graduate of the Drama and Music program at Queen’s University and is continuing her education at Randolph College for the Performing Arts. She currently holds her Grade 6 Royal Conservatory in Voice Performance and has been studying voice for 9 years (with experience in classical, musical theatre and pop). Previous positions include an on-call substitute teacher with the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, Education Assistant at Launch Point Academy and Managing Director of the Juvenis Festival. Lessons with Courtney can include:

  • Musical Theatre Prep & Performance (How to take your love of singing and acting to the musical theatre stage)
  • Character Development (How to connect with a character and bring all them to life)
  • Auditioning 101 (How to put your best foot forward and be ready for that big audition)
  • Monologue Prep & Performance
  • Basics in Voice

Liam1Liam Lynch
Liam is an actor, musician, and director from Toronto. He studied Music Theatre Performance at Sheridan College, and is über passionate about helping you become the most confident actor you can be. Liam has a lot of experience working in musicals, Shakespeare, and contemporary comedies around Ontario. He is also a veteran of Oshawa Little Theatre, and really excited to return home to the OLT stage! Lessons with Liam can include:

  • Acting Through Song (How do we understand the emotional beats of a song and tell a really clear story?)
  • Breaking Down Beats in a Monologue (How do we connect to characters, moments, and feelings through monologues?)
  • Shakespeare (Do you have a hard time understanding Shakespeare in school? Let’s dive into text work and make sense of it together!)
  • Finding Your Own Voice (How do we sing and speak onstage with our own unique gift - our voices!)

Nick1Nick Denis
Nick is an Ontario Certified Teacher with a Bachelor of Music (Voice) and a Bachelor of Education, both from Queen’s University. He has 13 years of experience doing theatre, on stage, backstage, and in the orchestra pit, as well as 4 years teaching private voice lessons. He has been involved in 10 productions at OLT, including directing the 2017 Youth Group production of The Little Mermaid. Lessons with Nick can include:

  • Discovering different colours of your voice (Let’s explore all the different tools you have in just your voice alone, and how to use it best for different styles)
  • Taking a song to the next level (Bring in a song you’ve been working on, and we’ll work on elevating it through voice, character, and more)
  • Theory (From learning how to play your part on piano to harmony and chord progressions for songwriting or analyzing)
